WOOD COUNTY BOARD OF DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES (WCBDD) HOSTS 1ST ANNUAL COMMUNITY ART SHOW

The Wood County Board of Developmental Disabilities (WCBDD) is thrilled to announce its 1st Annual Community Art Show in celebration of Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month. Throughout March, WCBDD has hosted a variety of events honoring this important month, and the excitement continues with this special showcase.

WCBDD recognizes the power of art to strengthen communities both socially and educationally. Art serves as a platform for creativity, self-expression, and inspiration. This year’s show will feature over 35 unique pieces created by local artists, including 6th to 8th grade students from area schools, individuals served by WCBDD, and participants in recreational art programs.

We invite the community to join us in celebrating these talented artists! Attendees will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite artwork, with first, second, and third-place prizes awarded. This is a free event, open to the public, and will include light refreshments.

While Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month has been nationally recognized since 1987 by President Ronald Reagan, WCBDD remains committed to fostering engagement and celebrating community relationships year-round. Upcoming events include:

  • Community Honor Awards Ceremony – April 11 | 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM | Nazareth Hall
  • Interprofessional Education & Assistive Technology Fair – April 11 | 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM | Owens Community College

WCBDD deeply values its supportive community partnerships and looks forward to celebrating with you at these upcoming events.
